9/20-9/24

Past
Tell a story about a time when you learned something.
I remember the time I came home from school. I was around eight years old at the time so I was still being baby sat at Ms. Debb’s.  My mom had just picked me up and I got out of the car and ran to the base of the stairs.
I looked upward and there was a picture frame that had something from the bible written in it.  Basically it said that God will protect you from demons. It had a bunch of unidentifiable creatures bordering the edges and they looked like they were snapping and clawing at the text. It wasn’t a very comforting picture to see before you enter a flight of stairs. I stared at that picture for what seemed like an hour before gaining the courage to make my way up the stairs.
A few hours later in was sitting on my bed doing my bookwork and I heard something. I lifted my head and tried to listen as hard as I could. I thought I heard scratching, somewhere inside the walls. So I got up & put my ear to the wall and then the scratching stopped. I waited to hear something more and just as I was about to take my ear away the scratching started again but louder. That startled me a bit so I ran down the stairs as fast as I could and slept on the couch that night and I never heard it in any other room.
The basement is always a creepy place in anyone’s house. Though, mine was beyond creepy. If the doors were open you could see strait down. The one time my dad told me to go down and get meat from the freezer, and I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. So I turned around thinking it was my brother and no one was there.
The absolutely creepiest time had to be when I was around twelve years old. I had a friend who was sleeping over. So I come upstairs and I find her hiding under the covers. I thought she was goofing around so I jumped on her. She screamed so loud and she told me never to scare her like that again. I asked what was wrong and she said she saw a woman in a night gown in the doorway of the guest bedroom. She said she had her hair up in a bun and her eyes were wide and she had a dark mass where her nose should have been. She was reaching out to my friend. I know she was telling the truth because she describes the woman the same way every time.
That’s when I learned my house was haunted.
